Class of 2020 sessions
The Class kicked off the year with a Leadership Workshop facilitated by Jenna Armato of Attract Engage Inspire, LLC, which encouraged attendees to think about their personal growth goals and how they can carry them through the Leadership Tri-County journey and the rest of their personal and professional lives. They were then put to the challenge of getting through the ropes course at GreenAllies, strengthening as a team and learning more about each other in the process. They ended the week with an opportunity to meet Leadership Tri-County alumni and the TCACC Foundation Board of Directors.
This month's was focused primarily on education. The Class began this session at a TriCounty Area Chamber of Commerce breakfast that featured a panel of superintendents of four area school districts. Afterwards, Mr. Stephen Rodriguez, Superintendent of Schools for Pottstown School District spoke exclusively to the class about fair education funding and gave them the opportunity to ask questions and address various factors impacting education today. The class then traveled to Pottstown High School Career & Technical Education Center, where Director Dave Livengood gave a tour of the facility and all of the resources and technology it provides for students pursuing various career paths. Chef Steve Irick and students of the Culinary program prepared a special lunch for the class.
To conclude this month's session, the class participated in a DISC workshop facilitated by Mindy Lipsky of Innovative Coaching Services. The class learned about the four basic behavioral patterns, how each style communicates, and the strengths and obstacles of each style. This workshop helped the class better understand themselves and one another so that they can continue to strengthen as individuals and as a team moving forward.
